CoolSculpting in Carmel & Indianapolis
Freeze away stubborn fat with no surgery, no anesthesia, and no downtime — using CoolSculpting Elite enhanced with Z-wave for up to 50% better results.
What Is CoolSculpting?
CoolSculpting is an FDA-cleared non-surgical body contouring procedure that permanently destroys unwanted fat cells through precisely controlled cooling — a process called cryolipolysis. The technology delivers targeted cold temperatures to fat cells beneath the skin without damaging surrounding tissue. Fat cells are crystallized (frozen) and then die, after which the body naturally processes and eliminates them over 1–3 months.
CoolSculpting is a proven non-surgical alternative to liposuction for patients with stubborn fat bulges that resist diet and exercise. With over 1.5 million treatments performed worldwide, it has an established safety record. The fat cells eliminated by CoolSculpting are gone permanently — they do not return.
CoolSculpting is FDA-cleared for treatment of the flanks (love handles), abdomen, upper arms, back, thighs, neck, and buttocks. It is not appropriate for obesity — it is a contouring treatment for patients near their healthy weight who have specific areas of stubborn fat.
CoolSculpting Elite with Z-Wave — Our Enhanced Protocol
My Plastic Surgery Group offers CoolSculpting Elite enhanced with Z-wave technology — a significant upgrade over standard CoolSculpting protocols. After each CoolSculpting session, the standard protocol is a manual massage of the treated area, which has been shown to improve results versus no massage at all. We go further by applying Z-wave after every session.
According to clinical studies, using Z-wave following CoolSculpting increases the efficacy of each treatment by up to 50% compared to manual massage alone. Z-wave uses acoustic pressure waves to enhance the breakdown and clearance of treated fat cells, delivering meaningfully better body contouring results from the same CoolSculpting sessions.
This combination protocol — CoolSculpting Elite plus Z-wave — is what sets our Carmel practice apart from standard CoolSculpting providers.
Am I a Good CoolSculpting Candidate?
CoolSculpting is designed for a specific patient profile. A one-on-one consultation with our certified CoolSculpting specialist will determine whether the procedure is appropriate for your anatomy, health history, and goals. Ideal candidates:
- Are near their healthy weight — CoolSculpting is not a weight loss solution for obesity
- Have noticeable, pinchable fat bulges in specific areas that resist diet and exercise
- Want a non-surgical alternative to liposuction without the downtime or anesthesia
- Have realistic goals — expect 20–25% fat reduction per treatment area per session
- Do not have cold-related conditions (cryoglobulinemia, cold agglutinin disease, paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria) that contraindicate treatment
The CoolSculpting Treatment Process
Before your session. Prior to your first treatment, you will have a consultation where we review your complete medical history, discuss your target areas and goals, and develop an individualized treatment plan. The plan specifies which areas to treat, how many sessions are recommended, and the expected timeline to achieve your goals.
During treatment. A gel pad is applied to the target area to protect the skin, followed by the CoolSculpting applicator. The applicator draws up the targeted tissue between two cooling panels and begins controlled cooling. No anesthesia or injections are required. During the first few minutes you will feel pressure and intense cold — this sensation dissipates quickly as the area becomes numb. Most patients are comfortable reading, checking email, working on a laptop, or even napping during their session. Each area requires approximately 1 hour of treatment, and multiple areas can be treated in a single visit — treating both flanks together, for example, takes about 2 hours.
After each session — Z-wave enhancement. Immediately after each CoolSculpting session, our team applies Z-wave acoustic pressure wave therapy to the treated area. This additional step has been clinically shown to improve fat clearance results by up to 50%, giving you enhanced contouring from the same treatment investment.
Return to activities. CoolSculpting is completely non-surgical — most patients return to work or normal activities immediately after their session. Temporary redness, tingling, numbness, swelling, or firmness at the treatment site is common and resolves quickly.
What to Expect After CoolSculpting
Results develop gradually as your body clears the treated fat cells over the weeks and months following treatment:
- You may notice early changes as soon as 3 weeks after your first session
- Best results are typically visible around 2 months post-treatment
- Your body continues flushing out treated fat cells for up to 4–6 months after treatment
- Most patients achieve 20–25% fat reduction per treatment area per session
- Additional sessions may further enhance results — your specialist will advise based on your progress
- Once treated fat cells are gone, they are gone for good — permanent elimination
If you gain weight after treatment, you may gain it more evenly across the body rather than predominantly in the treated areas, since the fat cell count there has been reduced. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle preserves your CoolSculpting results long-term.
