Hidden Scar Breast Augmentation (Endoscopic Technique)

In this procedure, a small incision is made in a natural fold of the armpit — completely hidden when the arm is at the side. An endoscope (a lighted tube with a video camera) is then used to create an accurate pocket for the implant beneath the chest muscles. Because the implant is inserted through the armpit, there is no scar on the breasts at all. The armpit incision typically heals and fades to near-invisibility over time.
Dr. Aker places implants behind the pectoral muscle to provide the most natural-looking slope and graceful upper pole appearance. What you are left with is a round, natural-looking breast with no visible breast scar — a result that traditional approaches simply cannot match.
Inframammary Fold (IMF) Technique
For patients who are better suited to a different approach, My Plastic Surgery Group also offers the inframammary fold (IMF) technique — one of the most common and trusted breast augmentation methods. In this approach, a small incision is made in the natural crease beneath the breast, allowing the surgeon excellent control over implant placement and symmetry.
The IMF technique is suitable for both saline and silicone implants and minimizes trauma to surrounding tissues. The incision heals well in the natural breast fold and is easily concealed beneath the breast in swimwear and lingerie.
